Frequently Asked Questions

Q. How fast can you buy my home?
A. We have purchased properties in as little as 24 hours but we aim to purchase properties to a timescale that suits you and delivers on your needs.

Q. What will you offer me for my property?
A. We offer very competitive prices, and we often find that we are rarely beaten especially when you consider the whole package you receive from us. We do of course buy below market value, the exact amount depending on the property and the area, but please be wary of misleading companies quoting elusive percentages.

Q. Do you buy all types of properties?
A. Yes. We buy all types of residential properties in any condition, anywhere in the North East

Q. Do you offer 100% of the full market value?
A. We buy at very competitive rates below market value in exchange for a swift sale opportunity to suit you.

Q. Where do you buy properties?
A. We are North East based and will only buy in this area.

Q. Are there any hidden costs or catches if I sell my house to Homes Bought Today?
A. No. There are no costs to you whatsoever.

Q. My house is in bad condition and needs a lot of work; will you still buy my house?
A. We are professional buyers and are not put off by the condition of a property.

Q. How long is your offer valid for?
A. Our offers are valid for a minimum of 28 days and we never employ any pressure whatsoever, take whatever time you need.

Q. I know someone who would benefit from your services, are you interested?
A. Yes of course. If you do introduce us to someone who benefits from our services and we buy their property then we would pay you a lucrative referral fee of £250.

Q. Do I need to find a solicitor?
A. If you have a solicitor that is fine. If not we have a number of very good solicitors which we would happily recommend to you purely to ensure the whole process is swift. All solicitors we do recommend must of course, be regulated by the Law Society.

Q. Is it too late if I am about to be evicted?
A. No, very often not. It is quite rare indeed for us to lose a repossession case. If your mortgages and secured debts are not too high then there is every chance that we can meet your needs.

Q. Will I be able to pay off all or much of my debts?
A. This would be the aim. In order to buy your property we would need to be able to cover any mortgage and other secured lending on your property.

Q. Are there any hidden costs or catches if Homes Bought Today buys my property?
A. No. There are no costs or catches to you whatsoever. We provide a free valuation, consultation and no obligation formal written offers and we give more written reassurances than anyone else we are aware of in order to offer you the maximum possible protection.

Q. If my home gets repossessed, how will this affect my credit rating?
A. Your credit rating will, as far as we are aware, certainly be adversely affected and have other undesirable knock on effects for future borrowing. You may well be much better off avoiding this situation by considering our option where you can quickly achieve 90-100% of your property’s current market value.

Q. Isn't selling my house at a discount the same as being repossessed?
A. No, not at all. There are costs involved both financially, emotionally and physically when being repossessed, we feel it is much better to avoid all of this stress and considerable financial loss.

Q. I have several months of arrears and I am struggling to cope. Should I wait to come to you when or if I get an eviction notice?
A. No, definitely not. The sooner you come to us the easier it is to stop repossession. The further down the repossession process you go the more legal and administrative costs you are likely to incur in addition to the interest rising on any missed mortgage payments. This could make it more difficult for us to help you.

Q. My wife and I are going through a divorce and we need to sell the house. Can you help?
A. Yes. We can arrange to buy your property from you so that you can share the proceeds as you decide.

Q. Do we both have to agree to the sale?
A. This depends on who legally owns the property. If there are two or more owners of the property, we would require all parties to agree to the arrangements for the sale to go through.

Q. Can I sell my house and rent it back?
A. We do not provide Rent Back solutions for our customers. We offer an attractive alternative where you can quickly achieve a high percentage of current market value.

Q. How do I find out more?
A. Call us free on 0800 2289485 or contact us through the Fast Offer Form.
